The first step to start kiteboarding is to buy a video and trainer kite and start picturing what will be taught to you! Next, you begin taking lessons. Beginner lessons are 3 hours for $300, which include $1,500 worth of rental gear, the instructor, and a chase boat. After this, independent lessons can be taken for $100 an hour.

Lesson 1: Introduction to Kite Control: Learn basic flying skills, safety techniques and kiteboarding theory.  You will practice flying in and out of the power zone, launching and landing, turning, stalling, and more. Lesson 2: Kite Control Body Drag: Feel mother nature's power!! With the skills learned in the intro lesson, you are ready to maneuver the kite through the power zone while power dragging in the water.  Talk about an adrenaline rush! Lesson 3: Kiteboarding Water Start: This is what you have been dreaming about!  After learning launch etiquette and safe sailing rules, you learn how to position the board, get up on it, and ride across the wind. Riding stance and posture are taught along with kite position and board edging. Lesson Advanced Kite Lessons: Lessons on how to go up wind and jumping. You can take one or more hour lessons, each hour is $100.

Lesson time are between 2:30 and 6:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday

After the lessons, most people buy a used or new kite which costs between $500 and $1,500. The boards cost between $300 and $800. Harnesses cost about $120. Come on in and I will show you some gear!
